I have had the pleasure of being the Head teacher of Kniveton Church of England © Primary for nearly 23 years. I previously worked in a school in inner city Derby.
I have seen our school grow from only having two teachers and 35 pupils to 5 teachers and, one year, 75 children! It has been a privilege to share the educational journeys of so many wonderful children and share their family’s lives.
I have a passion for Art and Literacy. I am the English coordinator in school. I also look after:
Teaching and Learning, Assessment,, Safe Recruitment, R.E.,
Collective worship and am the International coordinator.
I have two children- Katie, my daughter, was a Reception teacher at Repton Primary for nine years and has just set up her own nursery in Doveridge and my son, Tom, who has lived in Munich and China and worked at top international hotels out there and is now a chef at the Savoy Hotel in London.
My hobbies are my two adorable grand children: Harvey who is six and Tommy who is four. I also enjoy visiting our partner schools in Sri Lanka and Gambia and carrying out joint curricular projects with them. When I am not busy with these I enjoy painting and drawing, reading, gardening and spending time with friends.
