Welcome to the the Friends of Kniveton School PTA.

All parents, carers, guardians and staff are invited to attend our regular meetings in school.

Like all PTAs we rely on the support of our volunteers and are very grateful to those who give up there time to think of and run events. We are always looking for extra help.

FoKS is a registered charity and works solely to raise funds for Kniveton School by organizing fundraising events, which are used to purchase additional resources and days out, outside the normal school budget.

Sock

Welcome to new arrivals this half term and we hope everyone has settled back in after the half term break.

Social Events and Keeping in Touch

Unfortunately, we cannot meet up at present, but we want everyone to be able to keep in touch and feel connected.  We have an informal WhatsApp group for parents and carers. This group can be a great help for queries about school and features a rapid response rate, including from Mrs Board when appropriate!

Please forward yours contact details to Keeley.

Fundraising and Christmas Cheer

Christmas Cards

The children have designed their own cards again this year. All orders are with the printer. We are just waiting on a completion date and hope to get them back to you as soon as possible.

Kniveton School Recipe Book

Thank you for all recipes donated. We are in the final stages of editing and hopefully will have a completed booklet within 1 -2 weeks. All profits from sales will go directly back to the school.

Christmas Hamper Raffle

Keeping with tradition at Kniveton School, we are going to have a Christmas Hamper Raffle this year.

We aim to make up 3 large hampers from donated products and have some smaller prizes too.

To ensure we have a variety of items we ask for donations from a list. I aim to have a representative from each Class to have a list you can choose from and then have a set date for bringing items to school.

This fund raiser only works because of your generosity. Please bring in donated items on Wednesday 9th December. Boxes will be provided outside the entrances. Remember to check dates on perishable items. Details for raffle tickets to follow.

Friends of Kniveton School - Online Christmas Market 2020

Jo Burrows, Mum to Fin in Year 1, has set up an online Christmas market to raise funds for the school whilst supporting local and independent companies. There will be an abundance of different stalls for you to view. Ordering will be via messenger via the Facebook page and payment via PayPal.

We are aware that not everyone may have access to this facility, but for those who can please join the group and get shopping!

Bags 2 School

One of our greenest fundraising activities is the Bags 2 School initiative.  This is a way for parents to help us to raise money without it costing you a penny - and it helps you to clear out any old clothes and jumble!

We will announce collection dates through the term but please save your bags for us.

Items wanted: men’s ladies and children’s clothing (in good condition), paired shoes (tied or elastic band around), handbags, ties, belts, hats, soft toys, bed linen (no duvets) and jewellery.

The school gets money according to the weight of the bags collected.

It is fine to use black bin bags for the donations.

***Fundraising Challenge – School resources***

Each year Friends of Kniveton School asks the teachers for a wish list for resources which cannot be supplied from the school budget and will enhance the children’s learning experience. This year there are many resources which need updating and replacing. FoKS have already pledged money toward these resources from our current funds. We are giving parents and school supporters the opportunity to donate directly toward the resources that you want to have in our school. See attached letter.

Christmas Hamper Raffle Tickets

Raised £293. Thank you for all of the donations for the hampers and the raffle tickets bought.

Christmas Cards

We hope you enjoyed having your own child’s design to send out. This raised £70.

We would appreciate any feedback about the cards and products,
